Clothing Swap

I was inspired today....to clean out my closet. It seems that every time I wash and dry an article of clothing, it shrinks a little each time. Does anyone else have this problem? Could be the cheap clothing I purchase, mostly from Kohls. And while not every item in my closet is now suddenly too small, some articles I just simply do not like anymore. These pieces of barely worn clothing are not worn with stains or holes nor did they shrink in the washing process, they just do not look the same on me now as when I first purchased them. I am sure most women can relate. Usually I donate any worn, unwanted or outdated clothing from my household to the local Goodwill or Mission Stores. But I find that it is hard to part with those articles in which there is absolutely nothing wrong with, especially those with tags still attached because I never found the desire to wear that particular item.

During my cleaning out process, I started thinking about "Clothing Swaps". "Old clothes should not die, they should find a new life with a new owner". Clothing swaps are about getting together with a group of friends and neighbors and swapping barely used clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories. Sounds like a great way to spruce up your wardrobe without spending a dime and having a good time with friends in the process! What do you think?

Keep checking back with me, as I will be hosting a Clothing Swap sometime in February when the winter doldrums start to sink in. Whatever is leftover from the swap can be donated to an organization of choice!
