Football Food

Ok, so my favorite NFL team (Raven's) did not quite make it to the Super Bowl. But, the Steelers did win the 2008 AFC Championship and since they are my second favorite NFL team after moving to PA, I will be sporting my black and yellow on Sunday! I don't know about you, but for me having a variety of snacks and football food is something I look forward to! So, I was wondering what everyone will be munching on for game time (let's keep it clean here). I will be serving up some chicken wings and beef barbecue sandwiches, as well as a warm chipped beef dip along with the usual chips and beer. But what else??? I was hoping for some suggestions. Do you have any great appetizer recipes you would like to share?? Please leave me a comment below, or e-mail me (click the e-mail button to the left of my blog). See below for my 3 recipes:

Tracy's Chicken Wings

1 package fresh chicken wingettes

black ground pepper

Old Bay seasoning

Spread wings on cookie sheet, sprinkle black pepper and Old Bay generously over each wingette. Grill wings on med. heat for best taste, but they can also be baked in the oven. Wings are done when juices run clear.

Karen's Beef Barbecue

2 lbs. lean ground beef

2 cups Ketchup

4 TBS. sugar

4 TBS vinegar

4 TBS Worcestershire Sauce

Brown ground beef in pan, combine all ingredients and simmer. Serve on rolls.

Aunt Carol's Warm Chipped Beef Dip

8 oz. creme cheese (softened)

8 oz. sour creme

1 pkg. chipped beef

2 TBS. chopped onion

Combine all ingredients in a baking crock/dish. Bake on 350 for 40 mins. Serve with celery and other veggies.

Go Steelers!

Your menue sounds delish. We are having steak subs, pasta salad, beef stick with crackers, hummus spread and veggies. Cant forget cherry pie alamode. Really cant think of a recipe for you -- my mind is a blank.

I am rooting for the Steelers, too! We always have what my kids call a "junky" meal for the Super Bowl. Even though their not very into football, they love SuperBowl Sunday because of the food. I am making Dorito Dip: Spread an 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese onthe bottom of a pie plate. Top with a can of Hormel chili. Top with chopped onions. Top with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake until bubbly at 350 - about 25 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips or of course, Doritos!

I made wings last year, but with the stitches in my mouth, we're forgoing those this year. I used Pioneer Woman's recipe from her blog.

Everything else is just simple stuff:strawberries, cheese and crackers, cheese pizza, popcorn and ice cream.
