Fun Monday - Vacation Time!

Patience is our Fun Monday hostess this week and she has asked:

"How will you be spending your summer vacation?"

Well Patience, so far we have no definite summer vacation plans. We are very fortunate to have family that own second homes in "vacation" areas such as Daytona Beach, Florida, Brunswick, GA and Deep Creek Lake, MD and they are always very gracious to let us vacation at their second homes any time we choose.

This summer we may end up in Brunswick, GA and St. Simon's Island, which is my Mom's second home. Since we don't have to officially "reserve" the place, other than a quick phone call to mom and a little sweet talkin', we don't need much planning time to take this trip.

I am most excited to share with you our upcoming trip plans for this Spring! In fact, in less than 3 days, we will be heading South again to Corolla, North Carolina to be exact!

Every couple of years, my husband's side of the family (there are 18 of us, including my 2 nieces' boyfriend and fiance'), plans an Easter vacation together. This year, my gracious sister-in-law has rented an 8 bedroom house on the outer banks of NC. The house is situated right on the beach!

The 10 day forecast for this area calls for an arctic front to move in and temps to only be in the mid to low 60 degree range. Figures. At least the pool is heated. I may not be swimming in it, but my girls won't mind at all! I am sure the hot tub will be very inviting and I look forward to some good ol' r and r. I will try to finish reading my book, The Timekeeper and get caught up on reading everyone's blogs!

If you want to see more of this gorgeous house, you can click here for a virtual tour.

I am looking forward to reading about everyone's vacation plans. Click here to check them all out.

Beach Bound,

Keep me in your thoughts as you're sipping a light beer by the pool, beach, hot tub, ect...Hopefully I'll stay busy so that I'm not constantly wishing I was there with you.

WoW! That's quite a place! Much different from the little cabins we used to rent!

What a wonderful tradition, especially that you get along so well with extended family that you want to vacation together. How much better place can be had by pooling resources. That house is a dream and looks like there's many places to rest and be re-tool even if the weather doesn't totally cooperate.

You're writing a book? Have you told us about it in a previous post that I've missed?

Love your FM badge for this week. Your trip to the Outer Banks sounds wonderful. I've read about your Mom's place in GA. Sounds great.

What a gorgeous house! It looks like it would handle a really large bunch. I've heard of other families that do this and it sounds like such a great time! Have fun!

Hi, it's me again! I forgot to say - would it be OK if I put your blog on my blogroll? If not, just let me know. Folks usually don't mind, but I like to ask (or at least warn them, heehee).
