Fall Decorating 101

The FALL SEASON is upon us here in Southern Pennsylvania and it is absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite time of year!  The air is so invigorating and I love to open the windows and let the SMELL of the drying foliage into my home.

One of my seasonal rituals is to decorate my home. It gives me great joy to adorn my home with items that reflect the current season.  I recently created a PUMPKIN TOPIARY by strategically placing 3 pumpkins on top of each other and displaying them on top of this OLD BARREL. You can also use a flower pot, plant stand, basket, wagon, etc. to display your pumpkin topiary. Pile up as many as 5 or 6 pumpkins! Decorating your pumpkin topiary with silk leaf vines, straw, moss, etc. will add a creative touch. Cutting the stems will help keep the pumpkins stable. I find that the "CINDERELLA" pumpkins work well for creating topiaries.

So, what about you? Do you like to DECORATE YOUR HOME for every season?

Wow CL! You have an artist's eye. A real celebration of fall in one spot. Pour yourself a cup of hot cider and enjoy. In another life I was also serious about decorating my home for every season--making flower and still arrangements. Not so much any more but I do love. There's a blog that you may enjoy Elderberry Street for its home decorating ideas.

Your decorations turned out really nice. I'll have to keep the pumpkin topiary on my list of ideas maybe for this year.

The only seasonal change in my home decorations is what gets drug in one the carpets.

Your's, however, look great. You can come and decorate my place each season.

that topiary looks so very nice!! very festive for fall!! its so hard for us to get into fall here with summer weather still abounding, but some people have up pumpkin banners and in the next few weeks I'm sure we'll see scarecrows and whatnot out for decorations. I am such not a decorator (no talent here) so I don't decorate for fall, barely for Christmas, but always love to see how talented others are in their decorations :)

There is nothing, and I mean nothing like the feel of autumn in South PA. I love the feel and smell of it all. I'm sure your house is the best decorated one on the block.
