Just Plain Wrong (Shoot Me #26 of 52)

Have you ever done something so wrong, so bad...so against everything you have ever lived for? Neither have I... Oh who am I kidding! This past Saturday, FW and I celebrated our 17 year wedding anniversary and let me tell you, I have never done anything so not in accordance with what is morally right.

I know what you all are thinking....(insert bubble caption) "Has Church Lady gone mad? I thought this was a family rated G blog?" Well before your minds wander into the gutter, I confess...FW and I dined at a Brazilian Steakhouse in downtown Baltimore, MD. This is not the place to go if you are a vegan or trying to lose weight, or living a healthy lifestyle or if you just plain don't eat alot.

I have never had a dining experience quite like this one. Allow me to explain.

You will spend a good 2 hours at Fogos feasting on over 15 different cuts of meat, including leg of lamb, pork tenderloin, beef ribs and filet mignon seasoned and prepared to your liking. What makes the experience fun and somewhat of a game is the "coaster card" each person is given. One side of the card is green and the other side is red. Flip your card to green and this signals the chefs to begin their prompt table side service by bringing you a skewer of meat to sample. When you are satisfied, flip your card to red until you are ready for more offerings! In the meantime, you are served an unlimited amount of garlic mashed potatoes, caramelized bananas and cheese bread. On top of that, there is the salad bar with over 30 fresh cut vegetables, cheeses and Brazilian breads. Oy vay!

It's a good thing I wore my stretchy leggings. But even the elastic band was cutting into my waist. I still have the indentations to prove it!  (Again, I will keep this a family rated G blog)

I walked wobbled away from the experience feeling much like a stuffed tick. I ate and ate and ate and ate.  It was just plain wrong to eat so much food. But, I enjoyed every finger licking, melt in your mouth, tingle your tastebuds bite. I will just have to exercise doubly as hard this week to work off those 15,000 calories I ingested in one night.

Did I tell you it was worth it?

Thanks FW for a splendid evening!  Looking forward to many more happy, healthy years of marriage!

Is it Thursday already? Every Thursday I will be participating in "Shoot Me" hosted by Forever In Blue Jeans. You too can play. Click here to sign up and to see the other participants. Here are the rules:

Shoot Me! It's time to stop hiding behind that camera of yours. Your family is missing you in the picture. So it's time to post a picture of YOU (yes, you) every Thursday with your child, your spouse, your friend, your dog, or even by yourself. Just get in the picture, you'll be glad you did!

Reynolds Farm is in Waynesboro Pa. Google it and the site will come up. The festivities are free, but you pay for the hayride and what you choose to purchase. It is a super fun time! Hope you can visit. It is a yearly tradition for my family.

I have a Brazilian (ex) son-in-law, so we've had the same experience, many times. Great places to eat.

Happy Anniversary. I love that photo. You two look like the perfect match -- as you've proven you are!

Your feast sounds wonderful as a once in a lifetime treat. I don't think that is anything to stress over.

As I am sure you know, over-eating can be habit forming. As I told Amoeba at the table last week when he asked if I was full, "That is the wrong question. The question is, "Am I still hungry?" because if I am full I have eaten too much."

happy belated anniversary! what a great place to go and celebrate!! I like the relaxed atmosphere of it too that you could kind of command when you wanted the meat. The rest of the food sounded delicious too! It was a great place to celebrate 17 years of marriage! I think that is an occasion indeed that "demands" a little splurging with food and going over calorie counts, etc. On our 29th, we went to a fondue place, we definitely over ate, but hey, it was a celebration that only happened once a year :)

wishing you many more happy years together
