The Broken Chain

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

My Uncle Bernie will be dearly missed. May he rest peacefully with our God in Heaven.

He was so happy that day. I can't believe God called for him so early. He truly will be missed.

Ok, now you got me crying. Such a sad turn of events. Its true though, the chain is broken for the living but forming on the other side. He has joined lost beloved family members who embrace and welcome him with joy!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I've never seen this poem before, but it's very well said.

Your uncle looks like a person who would be great to hang out with, CL. Remember the good times--of which there are many, I'm sure.

One day the chain will be whole again when you gather around the golden throne in heaven. My condolences on your loss.
