Family of Six

During the week, it's business as usual for my family of four. School, work, homework, blogging, dinner, bath time, bed. But, on the weekends and I mean just about every weekend, my girls invite their BFF's to spend the night and sometimes, they spend the E N T I R E  W E E K E N D, which is perfectly fine by me. In fact, I expect their friends every weekend and so I prepare for their stay by making sure I have ample food supply and perhaps an activity for them to do.

This weekend was no different, so I thought it would be fun to make homemade soft pretzels. Here are my four favorite girls rolling the dough and making their pretzel creations:

 Here's Sam's perfect sample:

This is my oldest daughter craving a fresh hot pretzel right out of the oven:

The finished pretzels, some with salt and some with cinnamon sugar:

I have grown so fond of having two extra kids around on the weekends, it's like having a family of six!

They are good girls...very important to have close Girlfriends at this age or any age. Enjoy this time with them...it will all change when they get a serious boy friend..UGH! All part of growing up!!! They will all look back fondly on these fun times together!!!!

My elderly friend Lillian used to talk about time spent with her grandchildren doing projects and just being together. She called it "making memories" time. Said she did it because her grands will look back on this time as some of the best of their childhood. Looks like that's what you're doing with your girls and their friends, Kelly--filling their good memories banks.

That's a great idea for the kids. Your pretzels turned out much better than the ones I tried making in the "easy" bake oven
