Fun Monday - Let's Dance

I simply couldn't resist this Fun Monday assignment by Ari at Prawn of Fate.

The assignment is to Link to a music video or song that specifically makes you want to get up and dance.

Well Ari, this Church Lady thinks she can dance. In fact, once upon a time, country line dancing was a big part of her life. That's right, I used to be a boot scootin fool in my smoky blue cowgirl boots, western vest, tight blue jeans and cowgirl hat. I still remember some of the popular dances such as Tush Push, Slappin Leather, and Boot Scootin Boogie. As a matter of fact, even today when I hear Watermelon Crawl by Tracy Byrd, I just wanna git up, grab my boots and shake my booty! Here is what the Watermelon Crawl line dance looks like. I chose this video because of the professional cowboy dancer. FYI, I never got down on the floor like he does in the video!

You too can play Fun Monday. Click here to sign up and/or to see the complete list of participating blogs. Thanks for hosting Ari!

Learning the Hustle in high school was the extent of my line dancing experience (and I wasn't very good at that either). Always thought it looked like a lot of fun!

I love line dancing too. I think of the Madison way back when...or the stroll, or the walk...all those were line dances. Happy FM

Line dancing was very popular over here at one time. I had a go, but wasn't any good at it. Thanks for sharing.

That cowboy is having a mighty fine time, and that is what dancing should be about...having a good time. (A dear friend of mine went to high school with Tracy Byrd.)

Love watching this . . .what a memory Line Dancing brings back for me.
Now, excuse me while I go put on my cowboy(girl boots.

Love the song and it does make me want to dance, but I couldn't watch the video. This guy just thinks way too much of himself -- plus he's prettier and dressed better than his dance partner.

I think I dated that guy.

If I got down that low, I would never get up again. Fact.

I'll bet you can still wear that boot scootin' boogey outfit, Kelly! Never mind whether you can still get up and down on your own. Your "watermelon" cowboy reminds me of that sweet Ty Murray (Jewel's cowboy husband) who competed on Dancing with the Stars a couple of seasons back. He was so endearing and turned into a right good dancer.
