Snow Really?

On Friday, April 1st, it seems Mother Nature fooled all of us in the North  Eastern part of the U.S., even the birds. Here in the Southern part of Pennsyltucky, we awoke to about 3-4 inches of the white stuff. The robins chirped frantically as if they were confused. Had they come back from the South too soon?

Luckily, the snow didn't stick to the roadways, but it lay nicely atop the green spring grass like a soft white blanket and it clung to the budding trees like cotton. It was pretty. It was pretty especially because I knew it wouldn't be sticking around for long. And I was right because by late afternoon that very same day, there were no signs at all that it had snowed.

Since it was April 1st, the snow was the perfect "set up" for an April Fool's joke. Just as my girls were finished getting dressed and ready for their school day, I surprisingly announced to them that schools were closed due to the snow. They both danced and sang for joy. I held back my laughter for almost 5 minutes before I announced that they had been "fooled".  Needless to say, they were not happy.

I hope that was all the snow we will see for a while. It has been a dreery few days here. Temps only in the low 50's. My daffodils are blooming, which means spring has sprung. But it sure doesn't fee like it....yet.

it looks beautiful! And you are right, spring snows like this never stick around very long! Hopefully all blooms still continue to bloom! I remember when we lived in Montana, one year we got six inches of snow a few days before Memorial Day!!

cute joke you played on your girls!! Our pastor was saying how his family played a joke on him on Friday; text him and sent him video that their dog had seven pups. He didn't believe them until he saw the video and recognized the dog looked just like their dog. Where he was at, people around him said his face turned white!! I guess his wife/children spent the majority of the day on You Tube looking for a dog giving birth that looked just like their dog!!

enjoy the week ahead!

It is still rainy and wet and gray here, but happily we have no snow. Amoeba has been in Hawaii and calling me everyday to complain about the heat. We all need to trade places!

(Actually, we'll be in MA from the 11th to the 16th).

It's been dreary here too, and we still have way too much snow. I saw a flock of geese flying overhead, and I thought, boy they must really be confused. They probably think it's one heck of a long trip to Florida!

Ugh. It's April 4th and last night snow dumped 6 inches on us here. I am so ticked at Mother Nature right now.

Oh .... say it isn't so! Pretty, but, shoot, when is spring coming? I went golfing tonight, there were bunnies everywhere. My boys asked if I was going to golf or take pictures.

I liked it the best when later that day all the snow melted. I don't think snow is so pretty in April. Can you tell I was a little disgusted?
