My youngest daughter celebrated her 13th birthday party a few weeks ago with a few of her friends aboard our pontoon boat (C.C. Rider). It was the perfect hot summer day for swimming and boating at the nearby lake.
The kids love to run from the back of the pontoon and jump off the front. It looks like so much dang fun, I just may have to try it one of these days!
It's become regular routine to order Domino's pizza and have it delivered to the lake shore. And this time was no exception. It was the most convenient way to feed a bunch of hungry teens!
The beauty of a pontoon boat is its' ability to pull right up along the soft lake shore's edge. We refer to it as "beaching it". We were able to find a nice shady spot in the woods to picnic, so we beached the pontoon and ate lunch on land.
After lunch, we boarded C.C. Rider and cruised over to Lake Marburg's best kept secret.....the rope swing! I've inserted a short video clip of the rope swing below:
The swing can be a little dangerous, so we tried to limit the kids to 2 swings each. We didn't want to take a chance on someone letting go too soon and hitting their arse on the rocks below! I know, I know. We were really taking our chances. But, the good thing is not a single kid got hurt. All in all it was a good birthday for my Nature Girl!
