Quotography > Gratitude

This photo was taken by me near Lancaster, Pennsylvania a few weeks ago. It shows the Amish using traditional machinery and a team of horses to harvest straw. It is believed that the Amish and Mennonite farmers produce a greater harvest while consuming less energy than today's farmer.

To the Amish, toiling with the soil, raising livestock, and growing their own food is seen as cooperating with God's will. Communing with nature is a form of communing with God. To the Amish, farming is not merely a job but a sacred lifestyle dictated by the Scriptures.

That is a great picture and love the quote you put with it! I do admire the Amish lifestyle with the simplicity of it all; not sure I'm cut out for it though.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving!

One thing I'm not thankful for in the last day or so is contrary blogger that won't let me leave comments, especially important today! Your photo perfectly captures what it means to live life abundantly, Kelly. I am thankful for your friendship. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day with your family.

BTW, I stopped by my sister's apartment a few days ago and she had her melted snowman ornament displayed prominently on her tree. What are WE planning to make this year? :-)
