My Philosophy

Another Christmas has come and gone and here we are headed into another new year. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday as much as I did. It always seems to go by too quickly.

My hubby and I usually never exchange Christmas gifts, technically. Our policy is "stocking stuffers" only. You know, the usual candy, lotions, chapsticks, socks, etc. I always seem to get the better end of the deal since jewelry comes in small packages and fits nicely into Christmas stockings. This year I received a beautiful white gold and diamond accent ring. Prior to Christmas, I circled the ring in a sales circular I received in the mail and then layed the circular in an obvious place for my hubby to see. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

I believe I spent more money on our canine pet than I did on "stocking stuffers" for my hubby and for that I feel guilty. Our high maintenance pup was in need of a new soft pillow bed, a stuffed toy (lab proof), a big chewy bone (which he devoured in less than 30 minutes) and a bag of top shelf specialty dog food to help with his allergies and skin issues. He really is one spoiled dog.

My favorite gift of all this Christmas had to be the spur of the moment impulse purchase my hubby and I made together from the Amish Country Store in the mall. It is a picture that jumped off the wall and into my heart. The artwork is entitled Living Life by the artist Bonnie Mohr. I immediately fell in love with the words and believe I was meant to come across the artwork which was conveniently entitled after my blog.

I have decided to post the words under a new page tab in my blog labeled, My Philosophy, mostly for me so that I can refer to them often, especially when I lose my focus on life. It will be my reminder to live for today and enjoy each moment.

I totally understand the importance of getting just the right presents for the Labs - we have 2 of them. :) They made out quite well this year. We don't do really big presents, either. We get what we need to get during the year, then exchange nominal gifts at Christmas.
