My Weakness

Jellybeans are my greatest weakness when it comes to sweets. I can turn down the cakes and the pies and even the ice cream, but offer me a jellybean and I will rarely say, "no thanks". The jellybean has been my favorite candy of all time since I was a young-un'. There was a time in my life that it would not be unusual for me to eat an entire bag of jellybeans in one sitting....especially the Jelly-bellies.

However, if there is one thing I've learned from my current weight loss journey, it is that everything is ok in moderation and to eat an entire bag of beans in one day would simply be "unhealthy". If any of you have been a regular reader here at Living Life, you may remember that two years ago I lost 54 pounds. I posted about it here with before and after pics.

For the most part I have been pretty successful in maintaining that weight loss. My secret to that success is Weight Watchers. Last year, I gained a few pounds back after I stopped participating in Weight Watchers and I never reached my ultimate weight loss goal. However, I am happy to report that I am back on Weight Watchers and successfully losing weight again. In fact, I've lost over 10 pounds! And I am now a mere 10 pounds away from my lifetime goal.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will in fact reach this weight loss goal. I have the support of two of my closest galfriends joining in with me on this journey and they too are having great success.

One of the things I love about Weight Watchers is the fact that I can still eat my jellybeans. And guess what? I eat them every day. That's right folks......e-v-e-r-y d-a-y and I am still losing weight. A small portion of jelly beans satisfies my craving for something sweet without going over my total WW points for the day. The next 10 pounds will certainly be a challenge to lose, but rest assure it will not come without my jellybeans!

Did you know that during the 1920's the slang word "jellybean" referred to a young man who dressed stylishly to attract women?

Kudos to you on your weight loss! Its a healthy lifestyle to maintain n well worth it! I hear you on the jellybeans...I get the ones comparable to jelly bellies(forget the brand name)..buuutttt, they are delish. I there is 4 calories in one..so I just count out 10..15(vanilla being my fave)and keep it at that! My guilty pleasure is wine...suppose to keep it at 5oz a day...I do at least 12oz...Love my happy hr time!

Love your shots of the jellybeans. And I didn't know the origin of the word, but all kinds of images ran through my mind! All the best reaching your weigh loss goals. I'm on a serious quest as well.

Thanks for reminding us of your successful journey, Kelly. I love your attitude of moderation, not deprivation. At my age I'd be happy with a loss of 10-15 lbs. so I could wear favorite pre-retirement zip pants. Your story is an inspiration.
