With the boating season just under way here in Southern Pennsylvania, it comes as no surprise that our pontoon has already been "pulled over" not once, but twice by Lake Marburg patrol. In fact, over the past 3 boating seasons, the times we have been "pulled over" by patrol on Lake Marburg have been too numerous to count. This may lead one to believe that we are rowdy pontooners, who break all the rules while cruising Pennsylvania's waterways in our intimidating "pirate ship". But that is simply not the case. Well...the rowdy pontooners part may be true, but nonetheless, we are almost always compliant with Pennsylvania's Boating Regulations. We proudly display our Safety Vessel Check sticker on the boat windshield, which indicates that we have been officially inspected for life jackets, fire extinguisher, cooler of beer, flash light, whistle, etc. and for the most part, we are responsible and experienced boaters.
Fortunately for us, we have never been cited in all the times we have been "pulled over". Unfortunately for us, patrol is becoming a pain in our derriere. While we realize the importance of adhering to safe boating regulations, we can't help but notice how strict Lake Marburg patrol is. It can certainly make for a less pleasant and less relaxing time on the lake knowing we are being spied on by patrol through binoculars.
No matter how much we are "bullied" by them, we wouldn't give up boating....or this view for anything in the world.....at least not this season.

Beautiful picture! I wonder why they are targeting you guys? Seems like a bit of profiling here I think. Is it a different type of boat that is usually on the water? I say that because son used to always get pulled over because he drove an older Cadillac and the police suspected drug activity (every time they searched his car it was clean). So I wonder if they are targeting you guys?? Just keep boating on!

I would love to know why they pic on you guys! You are very responsible boaters. They used to check the campsites alot too way back when we used to camp there. Oh and last year when we stopped in the camp ground to visit our friends, they told us we had to move our car because we were parked in a "Vacant camp site" They are nit pickers for sure!!!
