Ode to Summer

Summer, you are...
A variety of flowers bursting with color;
The smell of fresh cut grass;
A tall glass of lemon aide;
Resting on the front porch rocker;
Boating on the lake and dips in the cool lake water;
Fireflies and mosquito bites;
Ripe tomatoes, corn on the cob and Maryland steamed blue crabs;
Ice cream cones and staying up late;
Campfires and s'mores;
Warmth;
Soggy beach towels and extra laundry;
An ice cold beer;
The smell of burgers on the grill;
Fireworks; family gatherings and laughter;
Photo opportunities;
Vacations, road trips and the beach;
Hummingbirds;
Flip flops and denim short shorts;
A golden tan;
A lighter load and longer days;
Welcome back.

Oh my goodness - such a wonderful capture, especially with the tones of the butterfly matching the tones of the flower. I'm completely envious (but in a nice way)
