Tea Party

I am going to a tea party and this particular one does not include the tea or scones! Tomorrow is a Nationwide Tax Day Tea Party, where hundreds of thousands of Americans across the country will unite at various locations to express their anger over Congress’s irresponsible and reckless spending habits. I am not a confrontational or political person, but I do like to stay informed (thanks to my hubby - The Freedom Writer) and I feel that taxpayers should not be deceived by the notion that the American economy can be revived by government simply spending its way out of a recession. Continued overspending runs up massive deficits that ultimately lead to higher taxes and less freedom for all Americans.

So, wish me luck....this will be my first and probably last protest that I will ever attend! Perhaps you will see me on the evening news... as the headline reads, "Church Lady is For Big Religion and Small Government".

Good luck. I marched for women's rights, in the early days.

Good for you!

Any economist worth his degree knows and has stated that throwing money to revive a recession does not work! It has to run its course. Otherwise it is a false comeback and everything will eventually be worse than ever!!

One of the things I love about our country is that people can, and do, engage in peaceful protest when they are not happy with the state of affairs. It's a wonderful thing that citizens of many other countries are not able to do. I've heard about the tea parties on the news...and now I have someone to watch for ;-) Take care and be safe!

Just be careful, there are a lot of nuts out there. I will have to pay more attention to the news, I did not know of this event.

This is supposed to be a Government by the people and for the people. BUT, if the people don't take part then it is doomed to fail.
So do your thing and enjoy, you've given your 2 cents.

Hugh made it to the front page of the CC Times. I'll save the article for you if you want.
