Today, is the first day of Spring, even though it does not feel much like Spring with the brutal winds and 45 degree temps. We decided to take a hike through the park this afternoon with Cooper. He had the run of the park and we enjoyed watching him play. I think you can even see a smile on his face!
Today is also Maundy Thursday. In the Christian liturgical calendar, Maundy Thursday is the holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. It is the fifth day of Holy Week, and is preceded by Holy Wednesday (Ash Wednesday) and followed by Good Friday.
On this day, four events are commemorated: the washing of the Disciples' feet by Jesus Christ, the institution of the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper, the agony of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane and the betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot.
Many Christians commemorate this day by communing together as in the Last Supper.
