Fun Monday - What's Bloomin'?

Well, I'm a tad bit late in posting my Fun Monday and I apologize. I was gone the entire day yesterday and am just now getting to it. Our gracious hostess this week is Karmyn and here is the assignment:

WHAT'S GROWING IN YOUR GARDEN? (or yard, or patio pot). Please post a picture. Do you have a flower that is just blooming its little heart out? Maybe you have a prize pumpkin that is promising to be the belle of Halloween. I know that all my Southern Hemisphere friends are in the middle of winter - but they can find something growing, too!!! (it might be their waistline!).

I have many patio plants, and this year I added these hibiscus plants. They are thriving and blooming so beautifully. I planted some white petunias as a filler around the bottom. The combination turned out great! The hibiscus blooms constantly and the white petunias do too!

I have many other patio plants, but I am most proud of my hibiscus plants. I am going to try to keep these babies growing (and not my waistline) through the winter months by pulling them into my heated garage. There are plenty of windows in the garage, so I am hoping that if I can keep them well watered, they should survive.

Happy Fun Monday everyone and thanks for coming back to visit!

Did you ask your loving husband about moving the plants into the garage?

I agree, your hibiscus and petunia combo are healthy and thriving. It is worth a try to keep the hibiscus over the winter.

Hmmm, my Hibiscus bloom year round ... ;)

Lovely plants! I hope your Hibiscus weather the winter!

Lovely! And a great idea to bring them inside during winter. Does your garage get sunlight in though? They won't like it in the dark. Inside glass doors is a good option. Happy Fun Monday!

They are beautiful hibiscus! I've never tried to grow them because I don't know if they'd do well here in Oregon. Good luck wintering them over. I have about a 25% survival rate for plants when I do that. but, I don't think I keep them watered enough.

Gorgeous - and I love the planters too!

Hibiscus gives such a bang for the buck with those hugh glossy leaves and even larger blooms in such jewel colors. Smart idea to underplant with impatiens in case the hibiscus gets leggy. Have never experimented with overwintering them but should be pretty tolerant.

Have a good week.

I enjoy looking at them, tho.

I have only three pots with petunias standing on my patio, that's all I have as flowers in my garden.
