In light of the holidays and giving season, Tracey at Nine Acres has challenged her readers to give something anonymously to a complete stranger and then blog about it. Her only request is that you stay somewhere hidden and watch the reaction of the person receiving your "gift".
I invited my Mom and her husband, Jerry to breakfast on Friday. We ate at a quaint local restaurant in town. The breakfast is always cheap and good. After we paid for our breakfast at the register, we handed the cashier an extra $10 bill and informed her to give that $10 towards the next paying customer's bill. Mom and I watched with joy from afar as an elderly lady stepped up to the register to pay her bill. We contineud to watch as the cashier told her that her meal had been paid for. The elderly lady was a little confused, but walked away with a smile. And so did we....

Love it! Isn't that the best feeling?!? Hooray!
I love it! thanks for sharing that story. One of my favorite times was when I left a $25 gift card for the cashier who rang up my groceries. I didn't get to see her reaction, but I felt fantastic afterwards!
Wow! What a beautiful idea! I'm down...
I saw your name at Thena's. Just had to found out more about the "church lady."
Merry Christmas!
What a cool way to get others to join in the giving. I make it a habit to do this several times per year. I generally anonymously pay for someone's meal, too. I have also been known to buy grocery gift cards and pass them out.
Very nice gesture and what a nice thing to do any tme of year. Now if I could only figure out the next place you're having breakfast..hmmmmm.
