The winter time activities have yet to cease here in Southern Pennsylvania. Since we live so close to the park, there is always something to do, whether it be Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall! One of the amenities at the park includes a gigantic sled riding hill. It's name...Suicide Hill.
Looking at this hill from the road doesn't seem so bad. But when you come face to face with it, you will see why it got it's name.
Here we are walking up to Suicide Hill.
We had to cross the frozen snow covered lake to get to Suicide Hill. Some parts were a little slushy, and my boots sunk into the slush so it was somewhat scary.
Preparing for the trek up the hill...
It was a long trek...
Once we reached the top of the hill, the girls were too chicken to ride down. I had to bribe $5 bucks to the first person who sled down the hill.
It worked, but a few rides down the hill was all that was needed for this group.
This video shows the winner of the $5 bucks and gives you an idea of how steep the hill really is:

That looks like fun -- or at least it looks like what I would have thought was fun many years ago. Now it just looks like cold. Is it time for the warm fire and the hot chocolate yet?
that is some hill! it doesn't look like it until you see the video! only bad thing about sledding is it takes just a few seconds to go down the hill and longer to climb back up; looks like a fun outing though!
betty
Wonderful pix and video, thanks for sharing. Strange to see how winter is clinging on where you are. Here, Spring is coming on apace, snowdrops fading, crocus in bloom and narcissi won't be long before they flower.
no way hosay..you wouldn't get me on that hill! It does look like fun...the chicken in me would over power the fun part though!!!
Hey Kelly! I remember you! We were at your house halloween's ago! Plus, my daughter Sydney LOVES your daughter! Sam, Kaycee, and Syndey is triple trouble! Just kidding! They are both SO good with Sydney! Thanks for checking out my blog! I hope you enjoy my posts! I have looked at some of yours! Love your daughter's room re-do! I think that is the most work I have seen Sam do. LOL! Take care!
What fun and what absolutely exquisite photos !
I almost felt like I was there. Except I'm typing in my warm bedroom.
Looking forward to spring !
Now that is a perfect way to endure a long winter. Brings back memories. I would much rather sled down than ski down--closer to the ground :)
(Fun Monday is up, but I had my Mr. Linky link wrong, again :( Jeez Louise.
the snow made everything so quiet... except that scream that went on forever
So beautiful there. And what a perfect sledding hill.
FYI: Me and the fam are coming to S. PA in EARLY JUNE! Maybe we'll have to stop and say hi!
