My Love Story

Since it was my 14th anniversary on October 16th, I figured it would be a great time to share my "Love Story" with you. But first, I must thank my cousin Brian's wife, Tracey. She was my inspiration for my Blog creation and for this story you are about to read, that is, if you want to continue.... I stop by Tracey's Blog daily because I truly enjoy her writing and photography. Please stop in and say "Hi!" to Tracey. In one of Tracey's posts, she shares her and Brian's "Love Story".

I have known Hugh for about 26 years now. If you do the math, you will figure that I met him when I was 14 years old and that would make me about 40 now..!! OK - that's another story. Anyway, I was at Cascade Lake, a popular swimming hole in Carroll County. That is where I first saw him, in his cute swim trunks! I was with one of my "boy crazy" friends who dared me to say, "Hi". This was just the beginning... I was too young to date at 14 and he was 4 years older than I! In Hugh's defense, he did not know my real age - 15 he thought, going on 16. I would then be able to date him. It wasn't until my birthday party that he found out I was only 14 going on 15 by counting the candles on the birthday cake over and over again!

Since my parents totally trusted him (hee hee), they allowed me to go on a "car date" with him at age 15. (Do you think I will allow my girls to do this???) Anyway, we dated about 4 solid years. We went through two breakups but always remained friends. My heart was broken by him. I was still very young, only 18 at the time...... "And when you love someone and you've done all you can do, you set them free, and if that love was true... when you love someone it will all come back to you" I read that phrase often and wondered if it would ever apply to me.

Hugh was living on his own and so was I. We were dating other people, all the while remaining "friends". A few years had passed and my mom remarried and moved to Florida. I then decided to move to Florida and make a new life for myself. After living in Florida for about a year in my own "chick pad", partying, dating, etc... Hugh, my "good friend", decided to come visit me. This visit sparked a renewed interest for both of us. Hugh decided to move to Florida and live with me.

A few months later, Hugh proposed to me while we were camping at "Crystal Springs". Six months later, we were married and living back in MD.

I can truly say that Hugh is STILL my best friend and lover. I believe that we are soul mates. Our love is "true" and I look forward to many more happy years together with him....

Oh my gosh...you are too too sweet. Love the story! I am going to post a link in my comment section of my blog so people can look at your love story too! Being best friends with your hubby is so much fun, isn't it? Too many people don't enjoy their spouse. It is so sad. I love the girls' constumes :)
