I just love Simon Cowell's analogies and catch phrases when he is judging the contestants on American Idol. He informed this season's, Anoop Desai that he just went from "zero to hero" and he told Adam Lambert that it was "absolute indulgent rubbish". Most of the times I agree with Simon. He pretty much tells it like it is. I think the audience has a love/hate relationship with him. They love his brutal honesty, but don't want to admit that he hits the nail on the head pretty much 90% of the time. He can be quite rude, but I am not sure of a better way to criticize someone. If you are going to say something nasty, you may as well say it "Simon Cowell" style:
"It was like Dolly Parton on helium. It sounded like some ghastly country fair."
"I feel as if I am in some ghastly restaurant on Valentine's Day and one of the waiters whips out a guitar and murders a Bryan Adams song. It was incredibly corny."
"You're like a dependable old dog."
"It was the equivalent of musical wallpaper."
"OK, you're out of tune, out of time, and you're out of here."
"Ok, zero for effort, zero for style, zero for star quality, and you know what? I'm being generous."
"You and Latin music go together like chocolate ice cream and an onion."
Do you have a favorite on American Idol yet? It is down to the top 10. My favorite is Danny Gokey. It does not look hopeful for the girls. There are only 3 of them left. I think Danny boy will be one of the last contestants, if not the next American Idol. BTW, Idol will not be on tonight due to the president speaking. Watch it on Fox Wednesday at 8 p.m. and the result show on Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
