A Bit Of Poetry By Kelly

I'm no poet. In fact, I haven't written a poem since High School Haiku. However, since yesterday was my  wedding anniversary to my husband of 19 years, I felt compelled to write him a poem. After a few minutes of thinking about it, the words seemed to flow effortlessly out of my brain and onto paper.  And since I was giving him the gift of new slippers for our anniversary (because he really wanted a new pair), "Feet" seemed to be an appropriate theme. So here goes, *ahem*....

Your Feet

Your feet are what carry you
There is no doubt,
After a long day
Even when you’re worn out

Your feet guide our family
On your values, you stand firm
It’s what helps us survive
It is how we all learn

Your feet built our marriage
19 years of wedded bliss
Those years haven’t always been easy
But your lips I still kiss

Your feet may sometimes be stinky
And at times quite rank
But my love for you is never ending
And that you can take to the bank!

Your feet are worthy of comfort
And above all, lots of rest
Your feet need softness and warmth
And deserve nothing but the best!

Happy belated anniversary to you and your hubby, Kelly! What a great poem; speaks of your love for him and the stability his "feet" are in your relationship and your family! Wishing you many more years of happiness together!
