Kiki will be 3 years old on Mother's Day. She has always loved and enjoyed being outdoors and she has always been welcome inside our home. But, this winter Kiki has not ventured outside at all. She has made herself quite cozy inside, either sleeping on Carley's soft velour bedding, or hiding underneath of my bed and I don't blame her, as it has been a bitter cold winter. Anyway, over the past few months, she has developed mats in her long furry coat. She loves to be brushed, but there was no brushing out these tightly tangled clumps of hair. These mats can be very painful as they pull on the skin. Clearly, we were going to have to shave our kitty for the first time! Now, I attempted to shave her myself, with the help of my family, but I think I was more timid than she was. I simply could not go through with it in fear that I may cut her tender thin skin. A trip to the Groomer and $65 later, we have a beautiful, lion cut kitty and believe me, she is sooooo happy! Take a look see:

I have never seen such a thing. Now you will never get her out of the house. At least the matted fur is gone, hopefully she can mantain and groom herself from now on.
Yes, I can see it in her eyes that she feels more comfortable and sexier than ever with her new look.
why would you do that!
