Well Mariposa, I can tell this is going to be a very fun Monday! I'm sure we could all use a laugh or too!
My two girls are 10 and 12 years old and they amaze me every day with the things they say. My youngest just told me yesterday that she broke up with her boyfriend. Now mind you, she is only in the fifth grade and for right now, it is "cute" that she has a boyfriend. The correct terminology for dating is "going out", according to my daughters. So....after the boyfriend showered her with all kinds of gifts for Valentine's day, and an early Birthday present, she decided to break up with him. When I asked her why she wanted to end this relationship, she replied, "well, alot of other girls want to "go out" with him, so I thought I would give them a turn."
Awwwwwwwe, it's so nice of her to share!
My mom has frequently shared this story about me. Mom says she remembers it vividly. It was the year 1969 and I was only 2 1/2 years old. The setting takes place in the bathroom. I am soaking in a sudsy bathtub and mom is sitting on the toilet washing my hair.....
Me: "I like Barbara".
Mom: "Really, you like Aunt Barbara"?
Me: "No, Barbara Billingsley"
(note: Barbara Billingsley, also known as June Cleaver was the Beaver's mom on the popular 60's sitcom, Leave It To Beaver)
Mom: (surprised that I would know this actress's name at only 2 years old) "Wow, you really like the Beaver's Mom"?
Me: "Naaaaa, she's an a**h***!
Mom fell off the toilet and practically peed her pants!
Does anyone remember Art Linkletter? Over the past years he has interviewed over 20,000 kids. If you have a moment (7 minutes), take a look at this video. It will surely make your day!
Happy Fun Monday everyone! Thanks for hosting Mariposa. Be sure to check out all the other participants here.

right now we're using the word 'hoser' in place of many other words. hopefully if its the only one the girl picks up that it wont be considered bad in school.
