Fun Monday - My Favorite Room(s)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It is once again time for Fun Monday! Our wonderful hostess is none other than my mother and my friend, Janis from Life According To Jan and Jer. This is what she has asked us to share:

What is the favorite room in your home? Tell us why and show us a photo if you can.

This was not an easy task for me because I so love every room in my home which we custom built nearly 7 years ago!

I spend a majority of my "free" time in the office/study alongside Freedom Writer as we both peck away on our computers and connect with the world.

Our family room is the place where we spend many evenings curled up on the leather sectional watching family movies on our big screen tv or cozying up next to our gas fireplace while we engage in family game night.

The kitchen is the central place in our home where guests congregate around the large center island, as they enjoy a variety of snacks and drinks. And also where my kids do their homework and where we all sit down as a family to eat a good homecooked meal. It is bright and airy and cheerful.

My bedroom is located on the second floor of my home and is otherwise known as the King and Queen's room. It is a wonderful place to sleep and well, er...you know! My bathroom, (currently under construction) complete with coffee bar, fridge and balcony is a room you could spend more than just an hour in!

Then, there is the playroom, my girl's bedrooms, the fitness room, mechanical room, storage room, basement, garage 1 and garage 2, laundry room and man fort! Whew - I AM BLESSED! So you see, I have so many rooms to choose from and frankly, they are all my favorites in one way or another. But, I will share with you the one room in my home that makes me feel warm and relaxed. It is the room that I will go to when I want to nap, or read, or listen to my girls play the piano. It really is the most peaceful room in the whole house and it gives me an all-over-happy feeling while I am in there.

So, without further ado, I present to you my most favorite room in the whole house, adjacent to the family room, which we have officially named....The Green Room:

I've never lived in a "built for me" house but have seen friends through the process. One wise friend said that you must accept that even though you make every decision about the house it will still not be perfect. From your descriptions it seems that you and your husband have built your dream home.

I can see why the Green Room gets special mention. That wall color is so calming and the room is not over furnished--perfect for relaxing. I think maybe some of your wall art has special meaning--maybe made especially for you?

We've enjoyed a pre3vious peek at this room -- only last time it was full of music!

Green is my favorite color and this does look like a wonderful, relaxing place to be.

That's a very cosy room ! When I was your age I also loved my whole house and it would have been difficult to choose which one I loved the most. But after 35 years of living in there, now I have my own little kingdom and I need it.

You are lucky, for sure! What a wonderful house. Next time we get together, let's do it there so I can see first hand!

You are truly blessed. Love the color of the green room. Our bedroom is more of a sage green but yours looks lighter and more relaxing.

Great room! I love how everyone is picking the room that makes them feel comforted or "centered". Cool. Congratulations on building your dream home...and surviving with your marriage intact. LOL.
