I'm always looking for unique, fun ideas and/or easy decorating tips to spruce up my home. I saw this idea in a doctor's office and thought I would try it on my own. It adorns the dresser in Nature Girl's room and she simply loves it.
1 tall cylinder glass vase - A.C. Moore $13 (with coupon $7.50)
1 silk orchid - A.C. Moore $2.19
river rocks or pebbles - "free" from your very own backyard, or $2.19 at A.C. Moore
1 betta fish - Walmart $3.49
Total cost = $15.37

Too cool! Now, how to get the Beta from Wal-Mart to Friday Harbor still alive?
A few years back one of my co workers had a fish like that in a large jar with something growing out of it.
I always wondered how long it could live like that --- as it is a tropical fish, isn't it?
I worried about the water getting too cool and stuff.
let us know.
What a good idea. It's so relaxing watching fish swim about in their little or big "world".
So thats what you got at AC Moore...cool! Remeber the Beta vases you made n sold years ago..this is very similar.
I love this kind of thing. I attended a black tire affair last year that featured a huge floral decoration on the buffet table with fish among flowers. I was fascinated by it all night long.
OMG! That totally rocks! Very cool to put a fish in there...
Pretty! My dentist's office has a similar set up!
This is pretty looking, but it is horrible for the fish. Bettas should be in no less than a 1 gallon tank.
You heartless fools. How would you like to live in such a tiny space?? Fish are not a centerpiece! They are living creatures who suffer accordingly from your ignorance! Bettas need large living space as much as any other fish. You wouldn't put your dog or cat in a cage that was just slightly larger than their body and make them live in it, would you? No? Yeah, because the require living SPACE. You know what space is, right? Brains, people. If you have one, use it!
