You've Got Mail

Just when I thought my girls were growing up too fast, they have shown me that they are still my little girls at heart...

A few weeks ago, they purchased these cute little tin mailboxes from the Wolfgang Candy Factory in York, PA. My sister had taken the kids there on a field trip. They were able to tour the factory and then taste some samples of Wolfgang chocolate and it was completely FREE~! BTW, the girls really enjoyed the tour (thanks Aunt "T").

Anyway, they purchased these cute miniature mailboxes for .50 and they were so proud of their bargain! They excitedly came home with the idea to use their mailboxes for mail! Of course not for real mail, but for letters to "Mom and Dad". Nature Girl quickly set up her mailbox in our bedroom on top of my dresser. She informed us that if the flag is up on the mini mailbox, it means, "You've Got Mail".

Just about every night, hubby and I enjoy receiving letters, small stuffed animals, trinkets and even money from our darling daughters! It just melts my heart. It's funny how I can't wait to see what's in my little mailbox. I'm sure this is a phase that will gradually wear out, but for now, I look forward to receiving my "gifts of love" from my two beautiful daughters who will always be my babies, even though they will BOTH be in middle school this year. Ugh.

How cute is that. They have a way of grabbing your heart. The innocence is still there. Hope they continue to do this for a while.

What a wonderful treat. I know you are cherishing those letters and gifts. Are you giving the girls mail in return? You know reciprocity will help a lot in keeping this going. Especially things like cool pens and paper!

Awww - how sweet! I used to make paper airplanes out of my notes/pictures and fly them towards my folks :-) I have no idea what they thought of that.

That's cute that they're putting their little mail boxes to use. They're both creative thinkers and very thoughtful.
