Good News and Bad News

I'll start right off with the good news...Kiki is home! Our cat of 5 years went missing for 2 whole days. I know this may not seem like a long time, but it has been bitter cold here in Southern PA (below freezing at night time), and I was worried sick that she would freeze to death. She is an inside and outside cat, but she mostly sleeps inside at night time especially during the winter months. She came home this morning cold, hungry and covered from head to toe in motor oil! Yuck. This is the bad news. We attempted to give her a bath this evening. Attempted is the key word. She does not like having a bath. I tried to wash out the motor oil and brush her, but I'm afraid we will have to take her to the groomer to get it all out.

This photo was taken just the day before she went missing. She loves to lay under the Christmas tree.
Another bit of bad news is that I have the beginning stages of a cold. I am so tired. And of all weeks to become sick when I have a ton of things to do! Going to bed now.  Night all.

OMG I so want to say it but I wont. Well let's see maybe I can say it in a nice way. Poor Cold Kitty. Nothing worse. LOL I do hope you aren't getting a cold but as a doctor once told me...Go see Grannie...that Hillbilly has all the remedies. :) Feel better :)

I am glad kitty is home and safe, albeit worse for wear. I hope you beat this cold and are feeling better soon!

So glad she is home! Our cat was missing for 3 days and then came back! So scared for her! The motor oil sounds horrible. Hope she gets cleaned up quick!

Glad she's home. I think the money for the groomer will be well spent. Motor oil is meant to coat machinery and it does a good job of it. Sorry about the cold.

My smaller dog, Adolphe Menjou, encountered rotten something on our morning walk Saturday. Since my leather leashes went to the great leash rack in the sky, I've been stuck using the Flexi-Leads. I do manage those things well. Anyway, I had trouble reeling Menjou in quickly enough and he got himself coated in rotted whatever. I had to lather him up twice with dog soap, then two vinegar rinses, and he still smelled bad. So I rubbed him up all over with the contents of two cans of diced tomatoes, made him stand in the sink for a bit, and then did a final long, long rinse. He still smells a bit like onion and chives (they were in the canned tomatoes!) but I can handle that smell.
